The Genesis Scottish Open and official Charity Partner The Renaissance Club Charitable Foundation (TRCCF) have now distributed more than £1million in charitable funds since the tournament was first hosted at the East Lothian venue in 2019.
TRCCF was set up by the owners of Genesis Scottish Open host venue the Renaissance Club to assist local organisations - primarily in the East Lothian area – and has been the charity partner of the tournament since 2022. In 2023, The Renaissance Club was confirmed as the venue for the event through to 2026.
Each year TRCCF selects a range of organisations, which benefit different areas of the community and beyond, to receive funds raised around the Genesis Scottish Open. Since 2022, recipients have ranged from well-known organisations such as My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, those that benefit golf, such as the East Lothian Junior Golf and the Stephen Gallacher Foundation, and local organisations such as East Lothian Food Bank and the Teapot Trust.
North Berwick native and Renaissance Club member Grant Forrest is the official ambassador for TRCCF, and the DP World Tour winner met representatives from more than 20 of this year’s recipients at a reception at the Renaissance Club this week, alongside TRCCF board members including Treasurer Jerry Sarvadi, and representatives from the DP World Tour.
Grant Forrest, The Renaissance Club Charitable Foundation Ambassador, said: “It’s been a real privilege to spend time with representatives from the charities who have benefitted through TRCCF and the Genesis Scottish Open.
“Some of the work that is going on in communities locally and across Scotland is really impressive, and what is so important about the way that TRCCF allocates the funding is that projects big and small have been able to benefit. I’ve been out to visit some of the projects and seen for myself how even the smallest donations can make a big impact, and I look forward to telling the stories of some of these amazing organisations in the run up to this year’s tournament.”
Jerry Sarvadi, The Renaissance Club Charitable Foundation Treasurer, said: “In the short three years since The Renaissance Club Charitable Foundation’s creation we have attempted to contribute to as many charities as possible. TRCCF intends to continue to grow in the future and hopefully make a much larger impact on many worthwhile charitable entities throughout East Lothian and all of Scotland.”
Rory Colville, DP World Tour Championship Director for the Genesis Scottish Open, said: “Scotland’s national open has a long history of charitable giving, and it’s wonderful to see how the £1million of funding raised since 2019 has benefitted East Lothian and beyond.
“Via our Global Community principles, the DP World Tour is committed to leaving a positive legacy on the communities that we visit, and the partnership between the Genesis Scottish Open and TRCCF really demonstrates how funding allocations – both big and small – can make a real difference.”

The 2025 Genesis Scottish Open takes place from July 10-13 and is co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour and PGA TOUR.
A world-class field is set to gather once again in East Lothian this summer, including Scottish star and defending champion Robert MacIntyre and grand-slam winner Rory McIlroy, who triumphed in the event in 2023.
The tournament boasts Genesis, the luxury automotive brand from South Korea, as title sponsor. Genesis title-sponsor two tournaments on the PGA TOUR’s 2025 schedule, with the Genesis Scottish Open following The Genesis Invitational at Torrey Pines in February, won by European Ryder Cup star Ludvig Åberg.
The event benefits from the continued commitment of the Scottish Government and VisitScotland, and retains its place in golf’s global calendar the week ahead of The Open as part of these agreements through to 2025.
The fan experience at the 2025 Genesis Scottish Open includes the Fringe by the Tee pop-up stage, in conjunction with the Fringe by the Sea festival, featuring a Saturday headline slot from KT Tunstall, the Grammy-nominated, Brit Award-winning artist.
A range of ticket options are available now at ETG.GOLF/GSOGA with fans given the chance to donate to TRCCF at the point of purchase.
