On the tee: Mutuactivos Open de España

Reigning champion Jon Rahm returns to Madrid and gets his Mutuactivos Open de España title defence under way at 9.30am at Club de Campo Villa de Madrid.

Rahm carded a closing 67 to get to 20 under and hold off the challenge of countryman Nacho Elvira and overnight leader Paul Dunne for his third European Tour title in just his 19th European Tour start.

The World Number Five is part of a formidable Spanish trio in Madrid, playing alongside 2016 Ryder Cup member Rafa Cabrera Bello and Adri Arnaus.

Sergio Garcia, winner of this event in 2002, will also have a Spanish playing partner when he starts alongside Jorge Campillo at 2.00pm, with China's Li Haotong completing their group.

José María Olazábal, who has 23 European Tour titles duing his illustrious career, begins on the back nine at 9.20am, with compatriot Pablo Larrazábal and Italian Andrea Pavan.

Miguel Ángel Jiménez, the 2014 champion and 21 time European Tour winner, plays with fellow Spaniard Alvaro Quiros and American Julian Suri at 1.50pm, while Thailand's Thongchai Jaidee is alongside Australian Wade Ormsby and Argentina's Andres Romero - starting at the tenth at 9.00am.

Raphaël Jacquelin, who won this tournament in 2013, is grouped with former winner James Morrison and India's S.S.P Chawrasia at 2.30pm on the back nine.
