South African, Clinton Whitelaw, newly graduated from the PGA European Tour Qualifying School, staged a spectacular birdie-eagle-par finish to claim his maiden European Tour win by two strokes from England's Roger Chapman - runner-up five times on the European Tour in a career stretching back to 1982 - and Australians Darren Cole and Wayne Riley. "I can't believe that finish," said Whitelaw, "and to win a tournament in my first season in Europe is a big thrill.
