Colin Montgomerie edged out Sam Torrance with a "miraculous" shot at the last to win for the second time in three weeks. Despite bogeys at the first and fourth, Montgomerie never lost the lead he had held after 54 holes, and recovered in good style with three birdies to be out in 35. Torrance, out in 34, was still two behind playing the par three 18th, and he set up a six foot birdie putt forcing Montgomerie to play a 30-yards downhill chip to score par for his one shot win. Torrance's birdie secured him second place whilst David Gilford had eight birdies in his last 14 holes for a 63 and third spot.
