Ian Woosnam made it two victories in a row with a huge drive, a five iron second shot to ten feet and two putts for a last hole birdie and his second success on the Tour's 25th Anniversary season. Tied for the lead on 205 (-11) after 54 holes, the Welshman took the lead with a first hole birdie but, after a bogey at the fourth and a double bogey at the sixth, he fell behind before clawing back a shot at the ninth. Woosnam rejoined Paul McGinley and John Daly at 11 under with a birdie with Jean Van de Velde one shot adrift. All exchanged shots to par on the closing stretch, but Woosnam extracted the winning birdie at the 18th.
