Michael Jonzon, of Sweden, passed the biggest golfing test of his career by winning on the beautiful tree-lined Aroeira course after being in contention from start to finish. An opening 67 put him within two shots of the lead, a 65 gave him a two-shot lead at the half-way stage and he still led by two going into the final round, where he scored 69 and stretched his winning margin to three strokes. "I've proved I can win and now I want to win again," said Jonzon after his maiden European Tour victory.
