Justin Rose: 66-70=136 (-8)
“I am excited for sure. It’s a great start and it’s nice to be in the hunt going into the weekend. Saturday is much the same as today, it’s about jostling for position and trying to stay with the lead or as close to it as possible.”
Angel Cabrera: 70-66=136 (-8)
“Wentworth is great and I always love coming here – it meant an awful lot to me to win here
two years ago. But that is in the past and I am enjoying the fact I’m in a perfect position again
for the weekend after my 66 which was a very good round of golf.”
Marcus Fraser: 67-70=137 (-7)
“The course is great here and the conditions have allowed us to score well so I am happy that I have been able to do that. But it is only the second round. I just want to try and go out there and keep making birdies and good decisions and we’ll see where we end up coming down the last few holes on Sunday.”
Ross Fisher: 70-67=137 (-7)
“I feel really good in myself and with my game at the moment. I’m not just here to make up the numbers and represent the club. I’m here to win the tournament which I firmly believe I can do.”
Shiv Kapur: 67-71=138 (-6)
“All through my childhood I watched this tournament on the television. I love all the history that surrounds it and I love playing here. I actually played Wentworth on the PlayStation all the time before I played here – I guess that’s how I got my knowledge!”
Padraig Harrington: 69-69=138 (-6)
(On the prospect of a €1 million bonus for winning the Irish Open and the BMW PGA Championship back-to-back)
“There are an extra million reasons on top of the normal reasons for wanting to win here. I didn’t know how much the prize money was this week but I knew how much the bonus was so I’m very aware of it because it’s something different.”
