Singh's Quest at the Volvo PGA Championship

Vijay Singh will continue his quest to top the Official World Golf Ranking when he lines up in a stellar field for the 50th staging of the Volvo PGA Championship at Wentworth Club, Surrey, England, from May 27-30.

Singh further closed the gap on current World Number One Tiger Woods when he beat the rain and his fellow competitors to win the recent Shell Houston Open at Redstone Golf Club on the US PGA Tour last weekend.

The Fijian will start amongst the favourites for the €3,750,000 Volvo PGA Championship but will face stiff competition from a high-quality field, headed by the 2003 Volvo Order of Merit winner Ernie Els, and also featuring Seve Ballesteros, Thomas Björn, Paul Casey, Darren Clarke, Retief Goosen, Miguel Angel Jiménez, Colin Montgomerie, José Maria Olazábal, Adam Scott and defending champion Ignacio Garrido.

Once again, BBC Television will supply live coverage of all the drama as it unfolds over the West Course, and anyone wishing to attend can call the ticket hotline on +44 (0) 1782 741 956 to book your place in advance or visit www.europeantour.com for more information on the Championship.
