The Debrief - WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational

A flawless final round display saw World Number One Brooks Koepka claim his maiden World Golf Championships title in style at TPC Southwind.

The American's fantastic finish handed him a three shot victory at the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational, where plenty of money was raised for the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital throughout the week.

Koepka cruises to victory

Many had anticipated a close finish as Brooks Koepka trailed his fellow four time Major Champion Rory McIlroy by a single stroke heading into Sunday's fourth round. But in the end it was anything but close as Koepka reeled off three birdies in four holes from the third to turn in 32 before picking up two more shots on the back nine to finish three strokes ahead of nearest challenger Webb Simpson. After clinching his sixth European Tour title, Koepka said: "These last few years have been unbelievable. It's been an incredible run, been playing some good golf and I'm excited for what the future holds."

Players pledge cash for birdies and eagles

It was not just the players themselves who benefited from low scoring this week as the likes of Jon Rahm, Patrick Reed and Justin Thomas donated money to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital for every birdie and eagle they made. Spaniard Rahm, who had led after the first round thanks to an opening 62, gave a total of $23,000 after promising $1,000 for every birdie and $5,000 for each eagle he made this week. He made 18 birdies and one eagle.

When Poom met Tommy

Being asked for autographs and photos is nothing new for top golfers - but it is not every day that they are approached for one by a competitor. That is exactly what happened as Poom Saksansin, who was in the field thanks to his victory at the BNI Indonesian Masters, met Tommy Fleetwood. After the pair both opened with 68s, the Thai admitted he was eager to get Fleetwood's autograph - and when play finished on Thursday, the Englishman duly obliged.
