Frenchman Jean van de Velde extended his overnight lead by a further four strokes in the third round, shooting a one-under-par 70 to lead by five shots from joint second placed Australian Craig Parry and 1997 Open Champion Justin Leonard.
Countering some wild tee shots with some superb chipping and bunker play, and with only 23 putts in his third round 70, van de Velde leads on a 54 hole total of level par.
Australian Craig Parry made the biggest move up the leaderboard, shooting 67, the best round of the Championship so far, whilst 1997 Champion Justin Leonard is well placed in joint second place with Parry at total five over par.
Two strokes further back are South African David Frost (71), Scot Andrew Coltart (72), and American Tiger Woods (74), but with Parry showing how a low score can move you up the leaderboard, there's still everything to play for on Sunday.
