Louis Oosthuizen held off a late charge from Alex Levy and others to take home his eighth European Tour title by one shot at the ISPS HANDA Perth International.
The South African successfully converted a 54 hole lead into victory for the sixth time in nine attempts with a final round 71 to finish with a 16 under par total of 272.
There is no doubting that Oosthuizen's ball striking was his key to success in Australia as his statistics show.
Oosthuizen average 291 yards off the tee for the week with his new Ping G LS Tec driver. Impressively he missed just two of his first 28 fairways at Lake Karringup Country Club, finishing the tournament with a driving accuracy of 75 per cent. He ranked inside the top 20 in both driving distance and accuracy for the week.
Even more impressive last week was Oosthuizen's iron play. Armed with a set of Ping S55 irons, the World Number 19 missed just four Greens in Regulation through four rounds. Only three players in European Tour history have hit more greens in one event: Colin Montgomerie (2004 Wales Open), Chris Wood (2012 Dunhill Links) and Henrik Stenson (2013 DP World Tour Championship).
When you hit that many greens, you are going to have a lot of putts and thus Oosthuizen finished the week with 125 putts, ranking 61st for the week. However he did rank inside the top 30 in Putts per GIR with his new Ping Scottsdale TR Senita CB putter.
A new putter and a putting grip combined to hole some impressive putts.
Long putt for birdie? No problem for @Louis57TM. #PerthIntl https://t.co/ZZsBZWWbMK
