• His 13th European Tour International Schedule victory in his 258th European Tour event.
• Moves to €517,722 in the Race to Dubai.
• Moves into the top 65 of the Official World Golf Ranking from 88th.
• His first European Tour victory since the 2013 Irish Open.
• This victory beats his previous best 2014 European Tour performance of tied ninth the Omega Dubai Desert Classic.
• Now in his 14th European Tour season. This victory has seen him win in nine of those 14.
• With this being his 258th European Tour appearance and his 13th European Tour triumph, has an average of winning in every 20th European Tour event he competes in.
• His latest European Tour victory moves him into fourth place for the most prolific English winners on The European Tour. Ahead of him are: Sir Nick Faldo (30), Lee Westwood (23) and Mark James (18).
• This victory in the KLM Open has now seen him win European Tour events in eight destinations. They are: Scotland, Australia, England, China, Abu Dhabi, Kingdom of Bahrain, Ireland and The Netherlands.
• Victory comes in his third appearance in the KLM Open. (Played in 2012 and 2013 previously).
• Victory bats his previous best finish in the KLM Open of tied 41st in 2013.
• Follows Doug McClelland (1973), Paul Way (1982), Lee Westwood (1999), David Lynn (2004), Simon Dyson (2006, 2009, 2011) and Ross Fisher (2007), as English winners of the KLM Open since the event became part of The European Tour in 1972.
• Began the final day four shots behind the 54 hole leader, Romian Wattel. Is the 21st winner this season to make up a final round deficit.

• Only made the 36 hole by two shots on 138 (-6), with the cut coming at 140 (-4). This victory is the second nearest to the cut line of any winner on The European Tour on the 2014 season. Fabrizio Zanotti made the cut by just one shot when he won the BMW International Open.
• Excluding the 2003 ANZ Championship (modified stableford format) and 2006 World Match Play Championship, is the the fifth of 11 European Tour stroke play titles where he has made up a final round deficit to win.
• Made up four shots in the final round in his last two European victories, the 2013 Irish Open and 2014 KLM Open.
• Becomes the sixth English victory this season. They are: Ross Fisher (Tshwane Open), Lee Westwood (Maybank Malaysian Open), Daniel Brooks (Madeira Islands Open – Portugal – BPI), Justin Rose (Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open), David Horsey (M2M Russian Open) and Paul Casey (KLM Open).
