This 1998 season didn't live up to the potential he showed in 1997, when he won the Moroccan Open with a blistering eagle-birdie-par finish. Made only one cut in his final eight starts in 1998 to finish 122nd in Volvo Order of Merit. Former SA Open champion, graduated from 1996 European Tour Q/S and won in Morocco within six months. Rest of 1997 season blighted by injury and made only 14 more starts. Held a Canadian Tour card before moving to Europe.
