Formerly ranked Number One in the World on the World Amateur Golf Ranking, Morikawa has enjoyed a meteoric rise in the professional ranks since making his professional debut in 2019, winning two Major Championships on debut and becoming the first American winner of the Race to Dubai.

His first Major success came at the 2020 US PGA Championship, becoming the third-youngest winner of the event and setting a Championship scoring record for the final 36 holes with just 129 strokes.

Became the first player in history to win on two Major Championship debuts as he triumphed at Royal St George’s at The 149th Open.

Made 22 successive cuts on the PGA TOUR after his debut in 2019, a feat only bettered by Tiger Woods at 25.

Won twice on the PGA TOUR in the space of a year, first at the 2019 Barracuda Championship and then the 2020 Workday Charity Open almost a year later.

Took up European Tour membership at the 2020 WGC-Mexico Championship and later that season became the third-youngest winner of the US PGA Championship, behind Jack Nicklaus and Rory McIlroy.

Became only the second player after Tiger Woods to win a WGC and a Major before the age of 25 with his victory at the 2021 WGC-Workday Championship at The Concession.

Won his second Major Championship at the 2021 Open Championship, becoming the first player in history to win on two Major Championship debuts - he also equalled Bobby Jones' record of eight Major starts needed to win twice.

Capped a remarkable 2021 by winning his first Rolex Series event at the DP World Tour Championship, overhauling a three-stroke deficit in the final round, and becoming the first American to finish the year as European Tour Number One.
