After a lifetime travelling the world and playing golf circuits from all corners of the globe, Fritz finally came to Europe last season for the first time and picked up two top ten finishes in his rookie year. His first visit to the continent of Europe proved a great success as he claimed sixth place at the 1998 Qualifying School in France and progressed to become a regular challenger on the circuit. After three unsuccessful attempts to gain a US Tour card in the mid 1970's Fritz turned his attention to the Asian Tour from 1976 to 1981. In 1978 he was invited to play in Japan where he continued to play for the next three years and claimed his biggest prize, the 1979 Torchigi Open. During the winter Fritz played in Australia. Returned to Wisconsin as a teaching professional from 1981 to 1985 and competed in a number of US Tour events. In 1986 he quit golf to start an advertising business with his wife, Mona. She now works in Public Relations and Marketing for the John Jacobs Golf Schools in America. In 1992 Fritz returned to golf and the Ben Hogan Tour, now the Buy.Com Tour, to start practising for the US Senior Tour. Through Monday qualifying Fritz has made a number of appearances on the US Senior Tour but decided to try his hand on the European Seniors Tour.
