One of six Americans to earn a Tour Card at the 2001 Seniors Tour Qualifying School, and he did not take long to make his mark, winning on just his third start at the Flanders Nippon presents Legends in Golf in Belgium. Wintz finished 31st on the 2002 Order of Merit but dropped four places in 2003. Once the head professional at Walt Disney World, Wintz played the US PGA Tour between 1975 and 1978 and again in 1981. He also competed on the Asian Tour, the Canadian Tour and in regional events in his home State of Florida. He has designed and built several golf courses. His wife, Cherise, a hairdresser, caddies for him when she is out on Tour.
