In a stellar amateur career, he won the 2009 Scottish Boys' Under-16 Championship, the 2010 Scottish Boys Championship and the 2012 Scottish Amateur Championship.
In 2013, he qualified for The Open Championship at Muirfield, where he played with former winner Mark O'Meara in the opening two rounds, and later helped Europe win the Palmer Cup, the college equivalent of The Ryder Cup.
Played for Great Britain and Ireland at the Walker Cup in 2015, helping the side to a 16.5 - 9.5 victory - their largest points total in history.
