A closing round of 68 at Pestana Resort’s Vale da Pinta course meant he moved up the leaderboard on the final day, eventually claiming the second full card. Had previously joined the Senior Tour by winning the 2009 Senior Tour Qualifying School in style with a final round 67 to finish three strokes clear of the field, having progressed through First Stage a week earlier. His 14 under par 270 total inn Portugal was the lowest 72 hole total at the Qualifying School since 2001. Enjoyed a number of solid performances in the years since, with his best finish to date a share of third place in the 2012 Van Lanschot Senior Open in The Netherlands. Made it a hat-trick of Harrisons on the Senior Tour, following in the footsteps of elder brothers Philip and Steve. Played on The European Tour in 1984 but has spent most of his career concentrating on his job as a club professional at Matfen Hall near Newcastle upon Tyne and coaching in the north east region of England. As a coach, his successes included two-time European Tour winner Kenneth Ferrie.
