Gained his love for golf from his dad at a very young age when he would go to Adios Golf Club with him daily.

Went on to play at the University of Arizona where he earned PAC 12 conference honors and notably came in second to Jon Rahm at the PAC-12 Championships in 2016. Upon graduation from the University of Arizona, he went on to play the PGA Tour Canada, PGA Tour Latin America and Web.com Tour.

He earned a T2 on the HotelPlanner Tour at the 2023 Irish Challenge and followed that up with a T3 in Scotland only two weeks later to secure his status on the HotelPlanner Tour for the 2024 season. A T13 finish in China helped secure his place within the top 45 earning a category on the DP World Tour. Gumberg also qualified for and played in the U.S. Open in 2023 at LACC.

He planned on playing on the HotelPlanner Tour for the entirety of the 2024 season to fight for one of the 20 DP World Tour cards offered to players at the end of the season.

However, things quickly took a turn when he won a play-off against Robin Williams at the SDC Championship, in just his fifth start of the DP World Tour season.

In 2025 he played every eligible event barring one as he fought for his card and remarkably holed out for eagle on the 72nd hole at the Genesis Championship to keep his playing privileges.

His hard work was soon rewarded as he claimed his second DP World Tour victory with a wire-to-wire win at the 2026 Hainan Classic presented by MAEXTRO.
