He promptly earned full playing privileges after posting rounds of 68-73-69-71 to take the fifth card. A small man, Iwama still won the Japan PGA Driving Distance Championship on two occasions, in 1980 and 1986. During 2003 he also managed to secure more eagles than any other Japanese Seniors Tour Member.
