England's Lau was diagnosed with both autism and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

Having only recently taken up the sport through the support of her father, Lau played her first EDGA tournament at the 2023 Johnny Reay Classic.

Finished second in the Net category of the 2023 English Open for Golfers with Disability at Kings Norton GC.
