He played in the victorious 2003 Walker Cup team, turned professional in 2003 and graduated from the Challenge Tour a year later. After recording nine runner-up finishes on Tour, Wilson finally became a winner at the 2014 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship following several years in the golfing wilderness. Those near-misses came between 2006 and 2009, and the Englishman earned a place in the world’s top 50, not to mention a Ryder Cup debut in 2008, along the way.
